1 Day Fire Piston Course

 

Welcome to our workshop bushcraft courses, but certain parts of this particular course may be held outside,

This course starts at 9,00 am and finishes at 5,00 pm, Included in your course fee travel to and from local Train Station or Airport (www.gpia.co.uk),

Teas, Coffees, Biscuits all day long and a cooked lunch is included in course fees as well,

What your Course involves

On this 1 Day Course you will learn to make and how to use properly a Fire Piston,

You will experiment with different types of Fungi, char cotton (carbon cloth), among other carbon materials, We will discuss where and how to find the different types of Fungi and where to source it also how to dry it,

You will learn how to make your own char cotton, which you will take home with you in its own tin,

A Fire Piston works on the same principal as a diesel engine Combustion, If a Fire Piston is used correctly it will produce a glowing ember with one strike of the hand, this compresses the air rapidly therefore it combusts inside the Fire Piston,

Many people have tried to use a Fire Piston and have never mastered the skill, you will walk away from this course having gained the knowledge and the know how as well as the art of using a Fire Piston,

You will also be introduced to 3 or 4 different tinders to see which one is the best for you to use,

And don't forget you will be taking home the Fire Piston you made in a leather pouch, you can continue to practice at home and maybe learn friends and family how to use it,
